Youtube has the trailer for Quarantine, a remake of the well-received Spanish horror flick [Rec], starring Jennifer Carpenter (Showtime’s Dexter, The Exorcism of Emily Rose). The film, according to the synopsis from Screen Gems, centers on a “television reporter and her cameraman Watch quarantine online are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to quarantine curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the online crew in tow, only to find that the [building has been quarantined, with them locked inside]. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew’s videotape.” So, kind of a Diary of the Dead sort of thing, but contained within a building and with fast zombies.
quarantine online is directed by the Dowdle Brothers (The Poughkeepsie Tapes) and opens October 17. The original, which debuted in Spain last November, is not set for release in the US, but here’s the trailer for it anyway, courtesy YouTube:
